At this time, all up-line trains on this section of Hankyu Electric Railways were Mikage Terminating

Some of the JR 201 series trains, with 12 cars, operated as down-line Express trains during the morning rush period : Ordinarily, they were used only as Local trains, with 7 cars.

The JR 221-series trains were also pressed into service as Local trains east of Akashi : Ordinarily, these trains operated only as Special Rapid or Rapid trains east of Akashi.
